If you can write it down as steps, it can be automated

Requests, payments, reports, exports, reminders, checks. The process is described once and then runs to that shape, with nobody standing between the steps.

From a description to a scenario

How it works today

The supplier sends a price list, usually a PDF. I copy the items across and compare them with the old prices. Where something went up by more than ten percent, I recalculate my own price and update the listings in the shop. Then I tell the regulars the new price starts on Monday.

* An example. Yours will be a different chain.

What the system does

Pulls data from anywhere

Email, forms, spreadsheets, marketplaces and sites with no export at all. If a person can see the data, the system can get it.

Brings it all to one shape

Different formats, field names and currencies are reduced to a single table you can actually work with.

Decides by rules

The conditions live inside the scenario: what to do if the amount is over a threshold, and what if the customer is new.

Writes to your systems

The request is created, the status changes, the document appears. With your access and a log of who did what.

Sends on an event

The message goes out when something happened, not when somebody remembered about it.

Publishes on schedule

Posts, products and listings go out on a timetable and by each platform's rules, staying inside the limits.

Counts and reconciles

Reports, stock and payments are collected from every system at once and agree with each other.

Keeps an eye on changes

Checks what changed on your side or on a platform, and writes only when someone needs to step in.

Testing and support

Before launch

  • We test on real dataWho does the testing depends on the case: I run part of it, part is easier for you to walk through. You are the one who knows the rare cases in your own process.
  • Nothing goes live half workingA scenario goes into service not when it is built but when it has passed the whole check.

After launch

  • I hear about a failure firstScenarios have alerts on them: the message reaches me before it reaches you.
  • Broken things stopThe system switches a scenario off rather than running at half strength and making things worse.
  • Fixing is part of the jobIf what we agreed on stops working, I fix it. New features and constant changes are separate support.

I consider the job finished when every test has passed and the system is running at your end.
